Les Nuits blanches de Saint-Pétersbourg

In early 20th-century Saint Petersburg, senior official Borowsky takes in his friend Serge Pozdnycheff, ruined by a life of debauchery. Serge seduces Borowsky's wife Sonia, and Borowsky takes his own life. Consumed by remorse, Serge retreats to the countryside and marries Hélène Voronine, but sinks into a pathological jealousy that drives him to try to kill his wife.
